Off to the doctors.. :(

I've been unwell for about a week and a half with a bad cold, possibly flu as I literally couldn't move out of bed last week.
I've only had 2 days off work and I felt very poorly last night with a bad cough, bringing up phlegm (sp? And sorry if too much information) and feeling very week.
My OH suggested calling the doctor and making an appt which I have, got an appt in an hour.
I hate going to the doctors, I feel I'm wasting their time, mainly because they make me feel that way, it's always 'take some ibuprofen and rest', but I feel I need something for this as I don't feel right.

Sorry to moan, just feeling fed up! x

I'm the same, always wait for ages then get told I've come in at the 'tail end' of an infection he would have given me antibiotics for but there's no point now!

Same here and I eventually gave in and went yesterday (had the bloody cold for the whole 2 weeks in Florida and would not give in to it, so that made it worse - still have a croaky voice) only to be told it was now on its way out and no point in anti-biotics but just being told that made me feel better - good luck.

Been given antibiotics and told I have a virus turned into a chest infection Glad I actually have something for it now though.

Pleased you got something to help. I've had the same thing for about 2 weeks. Rang NHS and was told "it was a flu-type virus doing the rounds" Stay in bed and take lots of fluid. The coughing and accompanying "gunk" is awful. I may have to give in and go to the Dr soon as well.
