Has anyone been to Daytona Raceway

Hi all,

Would love to take in a Nascar race at the Daytona Raceway during this years trip. I see the Coke Zero 400 takes place on July 6th. Has anyone ever been to Daytona for a race, is there anything you would suggest regarding seating, parking, thinks to do etc...is there anything I need to be aware of?

According to google maps it's approximately a 2 hour drive from the Davenport area, is this realistic or with the volume of traffic could it take a lot longer? I would intend driving down, taking in the race and driving back..is this doable?

I think it would be great fun and an amazing experience...Days of Thunder eat your heart out.

Daytona is absolutely fantastic. The Coke zero 400 is on the Saturday night, however there is also a race on the Friday night as well..The Circle K Firecracker 250..it is a smaller race (around 100 laps) and kids under 12 get in free. We went a couple of years ago and are going to it again this year. It was very quiet however is a good intro to NASCAR.

Thanks. In your opinion would the Firecracker 250 be a better race to go too (same experience with less crowds)? Any thought on seating, should we buy reserved seats or I think I saw a general area ticket (are these seats)?

Hi We have been a few times to the Coke 400 , a great experience, easy parking and a great day out . If you arrive during the day there�s plenty go see and do then the race at night . I think it�s all reserved seating, we were up in the grandstand above the start line. It�s a easy drive from Davenport

DS and I went a few years back on 4th July. We had a great days craic and one of the highlights of our trip that year.
