Mobile No upgrading of ticket for child

Just wanted to upgrade our daughters ticket for our August trip to an adult one - we have free dining and find the child options rather limiting. Being told on the phone that this is not possible. We booked directly via Disney .
Any advice? Anyone has been recently and experienced how this works with quick services where there is no appropriate child option ?

Have you booked flights with Disney too ? If so then what they have said is true, however if its a hotel and ticket only booking you CAN upgrade to adult ticket, my sister has done it for her 2 boys for our June trip as have many more on here.

It seems strange that Disney won't allow you to amend your booking to change a child slot on the booking to an adult slot and pay the increase in price. It would mean more money for them. Unless it meant that with the number of adults you have in your party you would no longer fit into the room? Eg. I don't think they allow 5 adults in a room but do allow 4 adults and a child?

Otherwise, sorry, I can't help. I hope someone else can provide some advice.

ETA: As mentioned above, when it comes to flights you have to enter the exact age of the people flying as shown in their passport. Therefore, you can't change a child into an adult.

We are 2 adults and 1 child one infant. We have just hotel and tickets with the free dining offer. She said it is not possible, cause our child is not 10 years old. I would have to cancel it and rebook

Ring back and speak to someone else. Always the case with Disney that different cast members know different things.

They will have to change the date of birth on the booking but if there are no flights linked it won’t affect anything.

They've definitely given you the wrong info. My boys are both 8 and I've just upgraded them to the adult dining plan (we don't have flights with them, just hotel + tickets). Call back again when you get a chance.

What did you say , maybe I got the wrong wording?
I said I want to upgrade my child's ticket to an adult one - is this right?

That’s right. It is a common occurrence that Disney cast members all give different answers. Frustrating but not unusual.

Maybe it's the problem cause I phoned the international number ( we are from Austria), should I call the UK one?
