It will be a while yet - probably not this year. This was the first testing phase...it was a complete surprise for the guests, and it was only for a day or two. They are still developing and improving the concept, and according to the Disney Parks Blog article, they have "more surprises up their sleeves" ..so who knows what is coming next!

Caspian was able to sign which thrilled the little girl no end.
Yes, WDW is great for signers, but for people like me who are partially deaf, lipread and don't sign, we need captions available or are totally left out, especially when the rest of the family who visit the character with you are hearing. Let's hope they come up with some technology for us.

Oh wow. My kids are always asking me why they can't talk. Will definitely have to book another trip to see this. Any excuse ;-)

This is great stuff. One thing though. Are they planning to roll it out to DLP. If so which language will they speak and will they go by their English or French names. Could be a bit of mine field. Otherwise fab.

Looks and sounds absolutely amazing! My 4yr old son asks every time we are in WDW why they don't speak!
When are they rolling this out at WDW?

It will be a year or two at least. Disney Parks officials are saying that this is the earliest stage of testing, and that they are a long way off rolling out around the parks. They do say they have "a few other surprises up their sleeves" though! So look out for those!
