We have been many times of the year...
But never been December/Christmas.
Would like any advice and pros and cons of going in December. And what you love about December compare to other months. |

We’ve done Christmas holidays twice out of necessity - school/college holidays - and found it to be ridiculously busy but obviously better than not going at all. After last year we vowed we wouldn’t do it again now they’re all grown up but look forward to going in early Dec next year instead to still have that great Christmas feel but with less of the crowds.

Hi we have always gone for the first 3 weeks of December and it is great, really Christmassy but not manic. The weather can vary from freezing to temperatures in the 80's from one day to the next but very little rain. Take clothes for all weathers and you will be fine.

Been the first 2 weeks of December twice now and love it. The special Christmas shows and decorations are lovely. Plus getting away from the cold weather here.
The weather out there is changeable, we’ve had days in the high 80’s and others have been cooler, but with young children this works for us but I know some people like the hot sun. We’ve never had a day where we couldn’t swim etc although there was one night waiting for fantasmic that was really cold and we wore coats. We had a day at Anna Maria and the weather and sea were glorious. It’s not too busy, but as everyone says it’s busier than it used to be. We were there from the 5th to the 21st last yeah and we never queued more than 30 mins with good use of fast pass but the firework nights are busy because they have more Christmas parties so less chance to see the normal night time fireworks at mk and we noticed a massive crowd increase the last 2-3 days as it got closer to Xmas. I actually said to my husband we had timed it well as it was less enjoyable the busier it got. |

We went 28 November to 12 December last year and loved it. weather was great, chilly in evenings but great in the day shorts and t shirt. Christmas shows were great, SeaWorld definitely worth a visit decorations were amazing.

December is a bit of a curates egg.
The first two weeks are quiet and as the sort of gap between Thnksgiving and Christmas, nice. The problem occurs the week into Christmas and New Year. the parks get totally rammed, it is not unknown for the parks to actually close as they have reached their capacity, which means long lines and long waits for those inside the parks too. We like the weather, not too hot but still warm

December is not an homegenous month. Weather may be similar any time. Basically highly variable. Winter coats one day. Swimming the next. Luck of the draw. Crowds depend on the date. The week before and after Christmas and others either side dependent upon the actual day of week Christmas falls is maddness. I’ve never been outside a school holiday (Feb and May half terms, Easter, August and Christmas), which are all busy. Christmas week is like nothing I’ve ever seen though. If you can get up super early (parks can open at 7am) you can still get a lot done but personally I’d never do it again. The only real Christmas gems for me were the Osbourne Lights (gone now).
