C&L Bangkok, Elephant Hills & Phuket adventure - March 2017 - Day 5 - Kayaking and Phuket

Day 5 – Elephant Hills Rainforest Camp and Phuket

We got up at 7am and packed up our stuff. We had slept so well again, our two nights in tents were the best nights sleep we had had since getting to Thailand! It was the most beautiful setting to wake up to .

We got ready to go on a kayaking trip with our group, we asked for an extra kayak again so we could have one each. They removed all the kayaks the night before so we couldn’t go out after dark. Breakfast was served at 8.

We all met in our kayaks at 9am but we headed out a bit early to get a couple more photos.

We didn’t go too far on the kayak excursion, mainly looking at the wildlife. We stayed watching the gibbons for quite some time, I couldn't get a good photo though.

We finished the little trip for about 10 and Chris and I stayed out for a while in the kayaks. It was very hot though so didn't stay out for too long. I had put factor 30 on but still got sunburnt shoulders .

We had to be out of our tents at 11:30am so we relaxed then packed up our stuff. We checked out and paid our bill for the drinks we had had the night before. Lunch was served about 11:50am, a buffet again.

After lunch we got the boat back which was about 45 minutes. We were met my buses taking us to our hotels they had our suitcases in the buses already. It was a 3 hour drive to Phuket and we had 6 other people going to the same area in Phuket in our bus. We stopped halfway through the journey and we both got an ice cream. We slept some of the journey and it went quite quickly.

We got to our hotel, Centara Karon Resort, about 5pm and checked in. We were shown to our room which had a cot in it ! This was quickly removed though.

We unpacked all of our stuff, it was so nice to properly be able to unpack as we had been mostly living out of a suitcase the previous 5 nights. We showered and headed out to look around Karon and went to the beach.

We didn’t fancy Thai food, we loved the buffet lunch and dinners at Elephant Hills but after three days we fancied something different. We stopped at an Italian restaurant. I had a bolognaise pizza and Chris had a salami and prawn pizza. We shared a large tiger beer, I also got a sprite so I could make a shandy. This was a really nice meal and came to 820 baht.

We continued having a wander and saw some fried ice cream places and stopped and got a mango flavoured one. This was 80 baht.

We got back to the hotel about 9pm, we relaxed and I was writing up my notes but I kept falling asleep. So I eventually gave up and went to bed !

Edited at 03:13 PM.
