Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Smoky mountains - Williamsburg - Washington DC - New York) Day 7

Day 7 - Thursday 6th April 2017

A lazy start to the day, we woke at 7.30 but stayed in bed watching tv and having our usual cabin cereal/bagel breakfast. Georgia was still sad over the fact Maisie was no longer with us, the cabin did feel really quiet and lonely without them!

It was set to rain and be cold today so we planned on a shopping day at Tanger outlets. We spent about 10am-1.30 here and Georgia got lots of goodies, we got nothing! Due to the exchange rate we didn't find the prices any cheaper. She got some converse boots (seen in later photos) that were $39.99, which after a quick google search matched UK prices. The Jojo hair bows (all the rage if you have a 7-10 year old daughter!) were crazy priced here. £8 at home and $18.99 here. But she had been promised one and so picked a white bow that she claimed you couldn't get in the UK (turns out you can!)

We drove up to Golden Corral for a very late lunch. I love the value for money here. Lots of choice to suit us all and veg on offer! I did try a bit of beef, my first since Christmas. It was wonderful, very moist and tasty, I haven't had any since though! We all overdosed on the puddings and felt sick

We stopped at TJ Maxx on the way back to the cabin where I again parted with some money to buy Georgia a pink coat, it was reduced to $14 I think. Back at the cabin we played some air hockey and chilled in front of the tv with a snack tray of things that needed using up. We tried out the whirlpool bath and were in bed for 10.

Great way to spend an iffy weather day. Sounds like Georgia did well on the shopping front !
