Swapping fastpasses

Can you swap your magic band with other people in your party to use a fastpass? Do they have the fingerprint scanners at the attractions or are they just at the park entrance?

The only reason I ask is I have just started our fastpass booking today and for one fastpass window I have split the group... 6 on RnR coaster whilst 2 of the party who don't particularly want to ride RNR coaster will ride Toy Story Mania instead using Fastpass at the same time. One of the 6 on RNR coaster might actually chicken out when they get there, so can they swap with one of the 2 going on Toy Story Mania instead if they just swap magicbands which hold the fastpass info? or will there be a fingerprint scanner at the attraction to confirm the fastpass info meaning they cant just swap magicbands?

We swapped at Easter no problem, there are no fingerprint scanners on the rides. Not that I am sure that it isn't breaking their terms and conditions but no one is checking, I even went on as my wife.

We have been swapping them with no trouble due to little one refusing to go on rides. And also using it to do a parent swap too

Yes you can swap bands, some it many times. Terms & conditions apply to park entry, I don't think they care who uses a fastpass.

You can definitely use someone else's fastpass. I have used a friend's fastpasses before on multiple occasions with no issues.

My daughter has had about 10 turns on T of T in three trips with Magic Bands using my band and several on Everest and he never encountered a problem. In fact she wears two bands in the queue and rides back to back and has never been challenged. I can confirm the seats at the back of T of T make an excellent place for a wine stop 🙂

Yes! I quite often do this with my mums Magic band as she won't go on anything faster than It's a small world!

It's interesting to hear these comments, as we were thinking of swapping bands when we go soon, but a friend of ours who's just returned said they were checking FP users matched the photos taken at the entrance, and even sometimes checking fingerprints again. Her thoughts were that we'd never get away with trying to borrow another person's band.

Has anyone any experiences to corroborate this, or is she yanking my chain?

Bands like tickets are non transferable. They probably caught on to the band swapping and decided to put a stop to it.
