Thank you kind sir, no doubt in my mind that we'll be through very quickly now We used to drive 160 miles down to SW Fla following our flight, but we now overnight with friends in Orlando and drive down the following day, so any delays at the airport don't concern us ... gives her more time to get the dinner ready

I got $1.60 to the £ and am very happy with that - mind you, would have loved the $2.04 to the £ we got a few years ago! As you say, those were the days!

I have had a look at the interbank rates over the last two years and several times it gets upto just over 1.6 then drops back down so we may have already peaked for a while. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Hi animal - as Kelly mentioned, Best Foreign Exchange went to $1.60 on Wednesday and ordered.

It's currently at $1.5905 with Best Foreign Exchange.

Looks as if our market closed at $1.6023 today if past history is anything to go by it will fall back on Monday as the profiteers will take their money.
If anyone has a lump sum to change then I believe you can forward purchase and lock the rate this might be worth doing as I think Sterling will weaken over the coming weeks.
Mind with Obama care set to start in a couple of weeks who knows the Dollar could drop like a stone but effectively not good for the world economy if that happens.
I remember my very first trip to the States when I was there for 6months in 1972 it was around $2.50 wow, would love to see that rate again.
