Hey, if you get the train to Kings cross it’s literally cross one road and enter St Pancras and straight down the escalator to pick up the Bedford train to Gatwick with no further changes.
I get the train regularly from Bedford to St Pancras and use that exact train most of the time, most people get off at St Pancras so there should be plenty of seats for you for the last leg. I haven’t trained it to Gatwick personally as for us we prefer to drive as we usually head down to Gatwick late the night before. |

I live in Hitchin which is the station before Stevenage when travelling southbound. Stevenage is a tiny station - just 2 platforms, one northbound and one southbound. So you'll just have to hop off one train and wait for the one you want without changing platforms. This is the train I also catch to Gatwick.
