Kind of glad I have the DVC

With all these people queuing with allegedly 23,000 seperate people all trying to get a Disney holiday at once (I find it hard to believe, and I think the queue system is a well known marketing gimmick), high prices, and lack of availibility, I am kind of glad I have my DVC 1 bedroom for around £150- £200 a night in dues cost.

Totally agree with you, have just completed on resale and plan on travelling next year, we normally go Halloween time so the fact free dining isn’t even offered that time any year has more than justified the purchase for us.
Plus the price increases mean we’ll break even in only a few years

We were no. 35674 in the queue another Free dining week before our DVC stay. At this stage if we find a suitable contract in July we can either canx & lose our deposit or rent those points out

It definitely takes the stress out of things! Plus, no hefty parking charges when hiring a car! 👍🏼

Do you really think that they would set it up to look like there is a massive demand? I must admit I’ve never seen anything like it and thought it was odd! I wonder if they have really sold out rooms in some resorts or whether they are holding them back?

I think the numbers are genuine. Just look at how many Dibbers are going for free dining and we’re just a small percent of people who go to Disney.

You all took the words right out of my mouth. I said to my husband earlier I am so glad we bought when we did! Free dining is definitely more limited and with the increase in prices its making it cheaper on the DVC. I want some more points and I'll be set I think and a very happy girl. Far less stressful. Come on Tweety you know you want to do it ;-)

I think everyone is underestimating the power of Star Wars . I know loads of people who have waited for 2020 as they thought that Star Wars wouldn’t open until the end of 2019 and the hype would have died down. So lots of new people who’ve never been before booking . Disney will have also reduced availabilty as they know they can sell the rooms and will sell even more come 31st May when everyone gets to see the real thing in DL.
I think you are lucky to own dvc and even though the exchange rate is shocking we will still look into it this visit .

I had no intention of booking, I've got DVC and annual passes.

I was in the queue to be nosy. Sure enough when my slot came around, after an hour, the link dropped me out again and said I had timed out. If I was a genuine customer I would have been fuming.

I wasn't fuming, just smug that I know I'll get what I want, when I want it for the price I have already stumped up.
