Amazon help please - confused about customs charges

If I buy something on Amazon.co.uk that is coming from the US could there be customs charges?

It’s this item amazon/dp/B00NTLXM...tbw&th=1&psc=1

I think so as my son has just received a letter from parcel force requesting payment for an item he ordered from the USA. DW has also experienced this. Personally think it's a rip off.

It doesn’t say in the description at all, delivery is £10.

I looked into the seller and they are US based.

A bit misleading to have the item on .co.uk and not state that there would be customs/handling fees.

I recently bought go pro lenses off Amazon and paid in £s. Next I knew my credit card had been charged a currency fee, I then had to pay duty and a post office handling charge before a I could collect the parcel. It was never mentioned that it was a non Sterling purchase. The parcel was also less than the duty limit but the company never completed the label correctly!
