Is it ok Booking via US website - American Airlines

I've just priced 10 night at Universal Cabana Bay plus a midsize Avis SUV on American Airlines site and it comes to $1777 USD (so approx £1398 in GBP)

When I price the same on various combinations of uk sites, tivago to find hotel price and various car rental sites, the combined price comes to around £1800!

I wouldn't have expected such a difference. So my paranoia kicks in and thinks it could be too good to be true.

Anyone else booked on US sites before for hotels and/or cars?

Thanks

You do need to check out the car insurance. Many US rental quotes assume the driver has his/her own insurance - common in USA when hiring, and that can be the reason why quotes often look so much cheaper. Other than that it would be fine - I've booked many times on US airlines websites and always been good value.

Yes you can book on the AA US site.

Make sure the car hire includes all the ins (CDW/LDW and SLI) plus local taxes, as often US sites do not and they would be very expensive at the rental counter.

EDIT: And looks like they are not included, although you can buy a 3rd party product for $90 for CDW (Normally you pay and then claim back, unlike if you use AVIS) and you will need SLI so that will be an additional charge. If AA give a 24 hour cooling cancellation option I'd thing again.
