DLP Fast Pass system
We purchased the Fast Pass Unlimited plan. Am I correct in understanding that this means we will not need to visit an attraction to obtain a return time for the fast pass line? In other words, can we simply show up to an attraction and enter the fast pass line whenever we wish?

Yes, correct. Plus even if FP is closed show a cast member and they let you through. In emh for example.
We had a vip fastpass (similar in use) and we used it in emh and on vader meet and greet. |

For queue timings make sure you know which rides don't have a fast pass. Crush's Coaster and Pirates of the Caribbean don't for example for planning those rides

Thanks -- I did make a list of "non FP" rides we are interested in, so we prioritize those when lines would be shortest, if possible.

When are you going and how long for?
To be honest I rarely bother with FPs - even the free ones - as you can do many of the FP rides with a 5 minute wait if you get into the park at the beginning of EMT.

We are going in mid July, only there for 2-1/2 days, and slim chance we will ever make it back again. We want to see and experience as much as we can. We will plan our days to get the most we can out of the fast pass options, to make up for any long lines we experience with the non-fast pass attractions.

I would say plan your visit carefully - avoid all weekends and of course Bastille Day (14th) which is a public holiday. Also check for any Spanish public holidays.
Get to the park for the very beginning of EMT. Not everything is open. As you will have the FP you can skip Big Thunder Mountain (ordinarily this is the best time to ride it) so I would say head to Fantasyland. Normally Peter Pan is a walk on first thing but again you will have FP so no need. The other open rides will be Dumbo (do this first to avoid queues), Teacups and Carousel (always quiet in EMT) and sometimes either Snow White or Pinocchio. Then to Discoveryland - Buzz and Hyperspace Mountain both have FP but again will be quiet first thing. Orbitron and Autopia will also be open. In Studios normally only Crush, Raratouille and some of Toy Story Playland are open in EMT. So I would do Crush (always a huge queue), TSP then use your FPs. Don’t forget Mickey and the Magician - best show ever! In all honesty, you should have plenty of time with careful planning.

Thank you! I had been thinking through a plan so this is very helpful to make sure I'm on the right track. Unfortunately, we can't avoid a weekend; that's just how our overall vacation plans have played out. We will be there for the few days preceding Bastille Day (flying back to the US on 13 July!) We will have fun no matter what!

July has a great advantage and that is late evenings. Ride queues do drop in the late evening. Do the shows in the afternoon and middle of the day

Perfect! I will add that to the plan as well.
