Dublin Pre-clearance question

Hello,

Dublin airport website says that after clearing dublin airport security you head to pre-clearance which involves a US security (TSA screening) check.

Does anyone know how this second security point works in terms of liquids?

Can we buy duty free and bottles of water to take on the plane or will the 100ml liquid restriction also be in place at TSA?

Once you are past security then yes..just as an aside I'm told that once past immigration you are officially on US soil which means the drinking age is 21

There is a duty free shop after USCBP so just buy there. If you buy in the main area they will put in sealed bags which you can bring through security as long as they are not tampered with.

Water is a no no, just buy after. There's a couple of small shops (and the Duty Free)

You could also use their collection service when you return, if you don't intended using the goods in the US

And finally on US flights there is no Duty free sales on board the aircraft

Both times I've been through it's taken no longer than 10 mins, and both times we went down to pre-clearance about an hour before our flight.

Generally speaking the Orlando flight is fine. There's only one other flight to the US at that time, Los Angeles. The flights preceding it are reasonably spread out too, Philly at 13:40 and Hartford at 14:20 so even if you go through a bit early you won't be caught in the backlog from them.

We'd be pretty much the same as PP, go down an hour before and usually 10m or so to get through.

But, keep an eye on the boards for other US flights especially delays. Recently went to LV via Philly and there are about 7 flights within the same hour, plus 2 of the previous were delayed, so took about 45m to get through that day.

Thanks for the advise. We are actually flying via Newark at 920 on a Saturday morning. Do you know if there are many US flights at that time?
Sorry again OP for highjacking your thread.

Just New York 1/2 before you and a couple 1/2hr after. But given the low(ish) volume there might be less desks manned at USCBP so keep that in mind. Haven't been personally at those times so can't comment

Sorry to jump in on this thread.

Can you buy cigarettes after border control or is it ok to buy them at the normal duty free? Also does anyone know how much 400 Lambert and Butler or similar costs?
