Ahem... Gives halo a polish.

I am pleased to announce that my Brownie Point account is now full to bursting since we are just back from taking my DMIL to Paris to visit her grandson (our DS21)

A great time was had by all, even though we walked the legs off her - being a mere 78 she managed to keep up with our pace. We were on & off buses, metros and round Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysee etc, also more mundanely, round a smelly French supermarket to get shopping for DS and she didn't flag (does anyone know why French Supermarkets smell?). DS lives in the spectacular "La Defense" which is the business district out to the west, among all the mirror fronted skyscrapers - completey pedestrianised and a photograper's dream - pity we forgot to charge our camera battery - however I guess we'll be back.

DS who had super-cleaned his apartment for the visit, revelled in his role as favourite grandson, and introduced Gran to all his continental pals who, of course charmed her & kissed her on both cheeks.

Our digs were in the Hilton La Defense where we were given an upgrade to "relaxation rooms" - TV in the bathroom, spa bath etc, etc which balanced the £10 return flights with Ryanair. We were 6 stops from Champs Elysee out of town, so wouldn't recommend it for tourists, but it suited us to be close to DS.

All in all a very successful trip - so I am maybe not quite as saintly as Jojovontrap (as we were only there 2 nights) but feeling rather pleased with ourselves tonight - and just away to phone DMIL to see if her feet are out of the footspa yet!
