Mad in Manhattan-Day 1
Hello
We have been here for 24 hours and am absolutely exhausted! we have walked for 10 miles today and have come back for a siesta. We stayed at The Radisson at Manchester airport on Monday Night, treated ourselves to the escape lounge then had a great flight with Continental-the seatback entertainment was fab and there was loads of legroom even though it was a small plane. We got a carmel car (a bit scruffy) to our hotel (Comfort Inn Manhattan) and went for a drink at the rooftop bar of the hotel opposite for a good view of The Empire State building as our room wasn't ready. It was so exciting to finally be here for the first time. We walked to Time Square ,the children loved Toys R Us and the fab Ferris Wheel.By this time we were flagging in the heat so we went for an early tea at The Olive Garden..we were too tired to appreciate it and headed to the hotel for an early night. Our room was really nice and the staff were friendly,I was a bit worried after the reports I had read on Trip Advisor. We were all asleep by 7.00,got woke up by an amazing storm..the children woke at 1.00am but they went back to sleep...phew!

Wow - hope you recover and enjoy the rest of your trip. We were in NY in May and had a fabulous time. It is tiring but make the most of it. It is an amazing city.

Hi
Really looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip. Quite interested in the hotel you are staying at - me and DD are hoping to go to NY in July 2011 and need some recommendations of hotels - can you let me know if it's o.k. and central enough for everything? Thanks Daisydoo |
