BA Fly Drive - Avis upgrade possible?
Afternoon all,
Has anyone ever flown BA Fly Drive and then upgraded your car upon arrival? or is this not possible? We fly into Tampa in Sept and I'm now wishing I booked a Mustang or similar instead of a Large car. Thanks, Gav

It’s easier to upgrade here before you go, call BA and get a price to change , thou I expect there will be lengthy waits on the phone at the moment

We just did this at San Francisco airport. We’d booked a mustang but our cases wouldn’t fit in. They said they’d let us swap free of charge and it seemed like we could pick anything we wanted. Husband chose a Dodge Charger RT Hemi. He was delighted! Never used Avis before so I’m not sure if this is normal. We signed up to Preferred before we arrived too and that meant we could go straight to the garage.

Yeah I did think that.. however I really cannot be bothered to sit on the phone for hours on end, there are others that could take my spot that actually need it.
I'll wait a while and give BA a call in a few months.

Upgrading to a mustang will cost a fortune at the desk. You definitely need to do it before you go.
