It's time for our first ever 'Baillies Do Disney' California trip! Join us on our California December 2022 vlog series!

Today is travel day to California, LA We start our travels from the highlands of Scotland to Dover to collect our Son from boarding school. We then stayed a night in the Premier Inn Heathrow (Terminal 4) before flying from Heathrow (Terminal 3) to LAX with American Airlines.

Once in California, we travel to Anaheim to check into our hotel, Sheraton. We then headed to Downtown Disney for some food. This was a terrible decision as we got lost and were far too tired for an adventure. Haha!

12TH DECEMBER TRAVEL DAY




Welcome to day 1 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we head to the happiest place on earth... Disneyland, California The original. The place it all started!

We started off with character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. Honestly, this place is so good! 10 out of 10 for sure. Better than Chef Mickeys! And that's saying something, because we love Chef Mickeys

We then brought our new magic bands before heading to Disneyland. This was our first time and we were so excited. It was amazing. Absolutely beautiful. The Castle is so beautiful.

We rode Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and It's a small world. All of these were so amazing and so much better than WDW. We also rode Indiana Jones ride, which was great fun.

We ate Mickeys pretzels, churros, churro toffees, cookies and lots of other Mickey shaped foods. And guess what... Spoiler alert! They were all AMAZING! We also fed the ducks on main street, I wish I was a main street duck!

Paige got Chip an' Dale teddies and we went back to Black Tap for dinner. This was a good burger. But nothing to write home about. We then had a walk back to our hotel and watched the Disneyland fireworks from our balcony.

13TH DECEMBER - Day 1 Disneyland




Welcome to day 2 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we head to Disney California Adventure! We are super excited

We started off with breakfast at McDonalds. Simple... but affective. Now we've been fed it's time for DCA.

We went straight to Avengers Campus... WOW! This place is so awesome. Time to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. That ride is soooo intense! Have you guys been on it? What did you think?

I then tried my first cold brew of the trip. A churro toffee cold brew... 9.5/10 AMAZING!

We then headed to Redwood Creek to see the big man himself... Santa Claus We even met Chip... that made Paige's day.

Paige then got herself a new Dug teddy and Callum brought a Stitch pin. It was now time for lunch at the Lamplight Lounge. This place is amazing and the lobster nachos really are that good! The hype is real people. 10 out of 10

It was now time to ride Incredicoaster... Paige was SOOOO excited for her first big coaster and she did so well. It is such a good ride. We all loved it and the smell of cookies!

We then went on Monsters Inc ride and Radiator Spring Racers. That ride is incredible. Can see why it's so popular. Cars land btw! Holy Moly that place is awesome. We then had a dance with the Guardians of the Galaxy before Callum brought a cool gift... Thors hammer. It is so awesome!

We then went to Disneyland to watch the fireworks. This was so amazing and emotional. Music, snowing on Main Street, Happy memories, Beautiful castle... Just perfect! Paige fell asleep so Daddy duties meant it was carry time. What a brilliant day! Time to get home for some rest.


14TH DECEMBER - Day 2 DCA





Welcome to day 3 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we are having a chilled one Pool, Shopping and Food.

After a much needed lay in (6am haha) we headed to iHop for breakfast This was so good!

We then went to Target to get some goodies. Love shopping in America (only food and snacks! lol). After shopping we received the craziest call from an America TV show. The video of Paige and Daddy had gone so viral that American TV shows were calling us! Mental!

It was then time to head to the pool. The kids were so excited. It was definitely needed and so nice to just be able to relax

After the pool we went and got some lunch... Me, Callum and Paige got a Subway and Michael got a burrito from a local Mexican place. I was so gutted I didn't get one. It was sooo good! 9/10 for sure. The Subway was meh... UK Subway is so much better.

After a 4 hour nap (Michael loves a nap! ) we headed to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. As always, this was great. Although Michael wasn't a huge fan of his pizza. The cheesecake was incredible though and made for a great breakfast the next day

15TH DECEMBER - Day 3 Pool and Shopping day and an exciting phone call





Welcome to day 4 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we head back to Disneyland, California

We headed straight to the park and went on Big Thunder Mountain before grabbing a Ronto Roaster Wrap from Galaxy's Edge for breakfast

After walking around Galaxy's Edge for a bit we headed to space mountain and I got a cold brew. The Horchata cold brew was very good! Sarah grabbed a toffee cream cheese pretzel. Both the pretzel and cold brew were really good

It was now time for Rise of the Resistance... This ride is so good! One of our favourites.

Then it was time for a true great... Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. This was incredible. We all loved it so much.

Then it was time for Beignets from New Orleans. Soooo good! And just perfect before our corn chowder and mac n cheese in sour dough bread.

We then went to meet Jack. What an amazing meet and greet! Also went 5i see Tinker Bell. So amazing.

We then rode 7 dwarfs and buzz astro blasters before going to take Paige on the tea cups. I then met my favourite character ever! The Mad Hatter Him and Alice were so amazing.

It was now time to watch the Dapper Dan's. Sarah absolutely loves these and I can see why. They're so incredibly talented.

Then it was time for the Christmas Parade. Which was so good. Some of the most amazing and magical memories ever. Watching the footage back got me all emotional and made me realise why we decided to vlog. Capturing all these moments.

Time for the Matterhorn... Oh god! That was bloody horrible haha. They should rename it "trauma on the tracks"!

But watching the it's a small world light turn on made us feel good. What made us feel even better? Going to In and Out Burger The hype is real people. I want one right now!

We headed to Walmart after food and then got an uber back to the hotel for some much needed rest.

16TH DECEMBER - Day 4 - Disneyland





Hey guys! Welcome to day 5 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we head back to Disney California Adventure We headed straight to Cars land for a walk around and then to Avengers Campus. This place is amazing! So many characters just walking around Callum got his first set of ears. They are awesome. We then went and got an impossible breakfast sha warma wrap from Shawarma Place. This was actually really nice. Now time for Spiderman web slingers! This was fantastic. But it's a workout haha. My arms were killing me after all the web slinging we did. We then headed to Storytellers Cafe in Grand Californian Resort for our character breakfast. Honestly, the food was okay... But the character interaction was unbelievable! A solid 9/10 overall. After food I had to go back to the hotel to get the GoPro batteries. Doh! Then it was back to DCA to look around Avengers Campus again to watch some shows and meet some heroes We then went to draw Tigger. That was so amazing Then it was time for Crush Turtle Talk. This never disappoints and we loved the interaction. So funny too! Snack time from Corn Dog castle... We got a cheese stick that was amazing and a corn dog that was very good also, just not as good. It was now time for the Dr Strange show. Wow! This was great. If you can watch it at night or the evening then do so. Time to head to Pixar Pier... Me and Callum went on incredicoaster and Mummy took Paige to see Joy. That was such a cute interaction. DCA is honestly so amazing! As I'm writing this I'm getting all emotional thinking of the incredible memories. Disneyland was just as amazing, if not more special in some ways. All I do know, I'm so glad we got to experience Disney in California. It really is the most magical place on earth! It was now time to walk from DCA to Disneyland...That whole 100m walk haha. Another reason why California is amazing. Not to mention all the amazing smells everywhere. Something Orland was lacking. It was now time for dinner at Blue Bayou... We did the Fantasmic dinner package. Food and atmosphere was really good. Highly recommend Time for Fantasmic... WOW! Highlight of the holiday so far. This was so amazing and magical. 10 out of 10 doesn't even explain how good it was. After this, I carried a sleeping Paige back to the hotel after an incredible but exhausting day. 17TH DECEMBER - Day 5 - DCA





Day 6 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we checked out of the Sharaton, Anaheim and checked into the Sheraton at Universal. We also visited the Warner Brothers Tour and went to watch the LA Lakers.

We started our day checking out of Sheraton, Anaheim and then grabbing an Uber to Sheraton Universal. This was a pleasant journey and wasn't too expensive. Once we got to our new hotel we put our luggage in bell services and grabbed an Uber to Bea Beas for breakfast. This was close to the WB tour so worked well Before breakfast it was a Starbucks stop! Then time for food... WOW! This place was great. Highly recommend if you're going to the WB Tour. After food we walked 15 mins for the tour. This was so much fun and we all really enjoyed it. It was now time for lunch... In and Out burger here we come! This place is soooo good! Even better than the first. I want one right now! We then headed back to the hotel for a rest before grabbing an Uber to watch the LA Lakers game.


I didn't really know what to expect from this game. But HOLY WHACK! That was insane! So much fun! We all loved it so much LET'S GO LAKERS! After an amazing day we headed back to the hotel for a much needed rest. 18TH DECEMBER - Day 6 - DCA




Hey guys! Welcome to day 7 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we are off to Universal Studios Hollywood. The park was a 10 minute walk from the Sheraton Hotel. As soon as we got to the park we headed straight to the Grinch meet and greet. It was less than a 10 minute queue... I'm so glad we did because that got to about 3 hours within 30 minutes. This meet and greet was unbelievable and to date the best character we've ever met. We drew him a picture and he loved it After meeting the Grinch we looked around a few shops before leaving the park to grab a Cinnabon on city walk. Wow! Such an incredible way to start the day. We love a Cinnabon. After food we went and met some who's before going to the lower lot and riding Sarah's favourite... Mummy The Ride. It was now time for some lunch We tried our first Panda Express. The orange chicken as recommended by our friend. It was "bangin", Becky would say! We would definitely get it again... Oh wait, we did! Haha. After lunch it was time for Transformers meet and greet which was so good! Then time for the transformers ride. Such a great ride that is 4D and Paige loved it. Top tip... Don't do this ride with a belly full of orange chicken! Lol. After this we headed to Hogsmeade. It goes without saying, this place is amazing. Just as stunning as Hogsmeade in Orlando. At Christmas especially! The kids spent some time waking around with their interactive wand and casting spells. Then we watched the choir. They were amazing. Time for a frozen butterbeer. That was so so good! It's definitely my favourite It was now time for Minion Mayhem before going to meet Kevin. After this we went for a look around the new Super Nintendo World shop. So cool. We ended our day with the waterworld show... Wow! Definitely worth a watch. Very cool. Then we went on the Simpsons ride. Paige loved that ride and wanted to go on again. With over a 100 minute queue we would have to wait until tomorrow. Before leaving the park we grabbed food from Bumblebee Man's Taco Truck. The Nachos were insane. I could eat them again right now! And quite cheap for what we got. After an amazing day we headed back to the hotel for a much needed rest. 19TH DECEMBER - Day 7 - DCA




Welcome to day 8 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today we are off to Universal Studios Hollywood. It's Michael's Birthday today. Im jealous of him spending his birthday in California. We headed straight to the park to see the Grinch Again... He was amazing! We then went and met Mayor of Whoville. Sarah then went and took Callum and Paige on Secret Life Of Pets ride. They all loved it Time to head to the Simpsons land... LARD LAD DONUT TIME It was soooooo good! We then went and met Donkey. That's a cool interaction. Love him! We then went to watch Animal Actors... Callum got chosen to go onstage! It was so much fun. We really enjoyed that show! Time to head to City Walk for lunch No queues... Panda Express come at us bro Myself and Callum then rode Jurassic World The Ride. WOW! That was amazing. My favourite ride in Universal California. We then went on the Studio tour This was so much fun and we absolutely loved this. We actually love this park so much. It's not as big as Orlando, but in some ways we preffered it. God I miss California right now! Time for a Krusty Burger for Paige before we rode the Mummy and the Simpsons Ride. We watched the Grinch show and the Hogwarts nightime spectacular show before leaving the park to head into California for food. For my birthday meal I opted for... Buffalo Wild Wings This was so good and they tasted as good as ever, although hotter than normal! After food we headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest!


20TH DECEMBER - Day 8 - DCA



Hey guys! Welcome to day 9 of our 'Baillies Do Disney' California vlog series! Today is the last day of our Baillies Do Disney California Adventure and it's travel home day We started the day off with breakfast in the hotel before walking to universal to see if we could find Paiges lost Grinch teddy. Unfortunately we had no luck We then went to City Walk to have a look around and grab some food. I went for a vanilla cold brew and memphis Mafia doughnut from Voodoo Doughnuts and Callum and Sarah went for a frozen yoghurt from Menchiez. They were very yummy! We then went for a walk around in a very impressive sports shop. It was so cool. Time for a walk around it's sugar... This place is insane. Come with a pre arranged mortgage. Haha. We then headed to the airport. Our flight was slightly delayed. We grabbed some border Nachos and pizzas. This was all great. Although we had to wait quite a while. We then bumped into Santa and his elves in the airport. You couldn't make it up. It was so magical and definitely the highlight of the day. Time to board the plane we were on the upper deck at the back. Such amazing seats, very quiet and so comfortable. Food was average at best. Entertainment was okay. If you want food quality and entertainment over comfort then I'd recommend American Airlines. But for me I would rather take the comfort Sarah and Callum said they preferred American Airlines. It was now time to drive to Yorkshire to collect our dog and then head to the Highlands and back to our home. This is the final vlog in the series

21st DECEMBER - Day 9 - Travel Home Day
