Rope drop at MK - what's the process?

We're planning on rope dropping MK on our 1st full day & heading straight to 7DMT, as we couldn't get an FP+ for it. It's a standard 9am park opening with no EMH.

My question is how does entry into MK work first thing in the morning? Do they let people into the gates/Main St well before the "Let the Magic Being" show & if so can you literally walk right up to the relevant Fantasyland rope off the hub to wait for the drop ? Or do they have others ropes before that preventing access to the hub, for example?

TIA.

They normally let you in around about 0745-0800 and then you can walk through Main street to the Hub before getting to the roped off areas. Some shops and eateries will be open as well.

You can get to the hub, but there are ropes from there blocking you from entering any of the lands unless u have a breakfast reservation. They walk u to the attraction but it’s like a stampede with your heels being kicked ppl loosing shoes - it’s madness ! It was the same at Hollywood studios but the rope drop at animal kingdom was like a sea of calm

Makes you miss the old rope drop, although there’s no way that could hold the early crowds of now.
