Flights of Passage

After some advice please!

My sister and mom hate simulation rides. They cant stand rides like the simpsons or soarin'
I've seen a few posts where people say that it is like both of these rides with the big screen. Is this true?

Thanks!

Yes. I've never attempted Simpsons but I don't even like the Minions ride. I do like soarin but that's about my limit. I've ridden FOP twice now and don't think I'll bother on my next holiday as it just makes me quite disoriented and dizzy at times.

Is it motion sickness they don't like?

Simpsons (and the Back to the Future ride before it) and Minions always makes me feel nauseous. I go on because I'm invariably with a group of people. I close my eyes most of the way through and it's slightly better. But then you have to wonder why bother? Hey I used to feel iffy on the very slow rotating Garden Grill restaurant at EPCOT. I'm a very sensitive soul...

Soarin I never feel nauseous and yes FOP is similar in concept to the aforementioned rides but sooo much better. I never felt nauseous because it is so exhilarating. Visually stunning. Hands down my new favourite ride. It's the same but just felt different. Soarin and FOP are much smoother maybe?

Yeah. Makes no sense to me either.

It’s basically like soarin’ but sat on a bike instead of in a seat.

I don’t do simulators either but did FoP last month. First time I was fine but spent a bit of the ride looking at the other pods of passengers to the side and behind at the storage area. When I rode it the second time however, I did feel nauseous when I came off as did DH.

I’m glad I tried it, but probably won’t do it again.

I don’t do simulators either Forbidden Journey made me feel bad all day with a headache, escape from Gringotts I’m ok & Soaring I love, won’t even go near Mission Space, Star Tours or Simpson’s,I’m worried about FOP too, but if it gets too bad I will maybe just squint my eyes this usually works, gotta try it once

I hate simulators, nearly thew up on Mission Space. I am ok on Soarin. I was fine on FOP on my first ride but not my second. The difference in the 2 was food. We ate at Tusker house then went on FOP and it made me feel so sick. My daughter takes travel sickness tablets to help her. They take away the sick feeling.

FOP is an absolutely amazing ride. The best we have ever been on. And we will go on again this year.

Mission space made me hurl (literally)
Simpsons was awful and I had to sit down
I really don’t enjoy star tours but can just about deal if I shut my eyes
Soarin I have no trouble at all
And FoP and Harry Potter forbidden journey I love both but they do make me slightly queasy. I can defeat this entirely by shutting my eyes during the jerky bits.

Just one point of view from a simulator wuss!

Wild Arctic at Seaworld is the only simulator ride I ever felt sick on and had to close my eyes. Didn't like Simpsons either - too jerky. But you have to at least try FOP as it's an amazing ride

How close are you to the next person? I want to ride with my 6 year old who will just be tall enough. She loves rides even Tower of Terror but I’m normally in touching distance of her so the ride vehicle concerns me a bit

Awesome!
Thank you everyone for your replies.
I'm trying to convince them both to at least try it once.

The sickness tabs are a great idea! thank you!
