Mobile Changing dates on a package holiday...

We are supposed to be travelling next October.

For the first time my parents are coming with us. My dad was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s a few years ago and although had a good quality of life we are starting to see slight deteriorations in his cognitive behaviour.

We discussed bringing the holiday forward and wondered if this would be a possibility.

Has anyone done similar and what costs were involved?

I think the cost will vary depending on who you booked the package with. If you intend on bringing the holiday forward to Easter for example the cost of your holiday will likely go up. If you travel in February or March the cost of the holiday may go down. There will likely be amendment fees to pay on top. I would call whoever you booked with and ask them what their amendment fees are.

We changed with TC a few years ago and it was £50 per change - date out, date back, hotel, per person. It was capped at £250 per booking. Our new holiday was cheaper but had to pay the full amendment fee at time of change.

As Blue nose says above, we changed with Thomas Cook and it was a £50 pp charge. Our new flights were more expensive so we had to pay extra for the flights too.
