Upgraded child on DDP. Is this allowed?
Staying at POFQ (2ad 2ch), we have upgraded our eldest sons dining plan to the adult one. He is 9 years old but prefer the adult menu's to the childrens offerings in most places. This gives us 3 adult TS credits and one kids TS credit per day.
Where food is served family style Ohana's and Liberty Tree Tavern can we use a childs TS credit for him? Thinking that this would allows us to save up the adult credits for additional restaurants. We would then obviously have to pay for some kids meals but at the cheaper restaurants. |

I don’t think they’d allow it as you’ve got 3 adult plans and 1 child at places like ohana they’d take those credits? Hopefully someone else can confirm

We are going in April/May and our daughter will be 10 in June.
She was upset she wasn't an adult yet We upgraded her ticket (with WDTC) so we have all adult credits. Will be paying a few kids meals OOP and saving her credit for us Edited at 10:52 AM. |

Thats what I thought might happen.
I believe we are ok to pay OOP for a kids meal to save an adult TS credit? We were just looking at how to maximise the plan by only paying for the kids at the cheaper restaurants, and using kids TS credits at the more expensive ones where he will eat from the kids menu. Edited at 10:54 AM. |

I would think you could use a child’s credit given he’s under 10. Or definitely be able to pay OOP anyway.

Cannot remember last year what happened but do they scan everyone's magicband to take a TS credit or is it done from just one in the party?
If for instance it was just me, how would they know he was on the adult plan anyway without me telling them? Could I not just say to the server for example in Ohana's, 2x adult credits and 2x kids credits? |

they will only scan 1 magic band.
don't assign guests on your dining reservations, or that will turn up as 3 adults and 1 child. you should not have any issue as the child is truely under 10 it would be different if you were to use a child credit for a child who's over 10 at a buffet or prix fixe restaurant but, consider you'll be using a child credit off your second child's allowance, meaning you will need to pay OOP for a meal for your second child, sometime during your stay so you might as well pay OOP for a child menu for your first (upgraded) child so pay 2 adult TS, 1 child TS, and 1 child OOP because in the end, you'll have to pay OOP for children meals if you use child #2's credits for child #1 |

Thanks.
We plan to use 2x kids TS credits in the more expensive restaurants, and the buffet/family style restaurants (Ohana's/Tuskers), as the kids menu prices there are expensive and they can still eat from the adult choices on a kids TS credit. We will then pay OOP for the kids meals at the cheaper restaurants such as Sci-fi Dine In where its only about $10-12 for a kids meal plus drink. |

We upgraded both of our children's dining plan last year and visited more signature dining places and paid oop at various restaurants including buffets. They were aged 8 and 9 so both still classed as children. We didn't have an issue with it at all.
