Upgrading 14 day Ultimate ticket to 21 day

We have a package booked in August at SSR including Dining Plan through Attraction Tickets Direct. We currently have 14 day Ultimate tickets booked with the package but have now decided to stay an extra few nights and wanted to upgrade to the 21 day pass. We paid £399 each for the 14 day tickets and Disney are advertising the 21 day tickets as £415 so we were expecting a price of around £15 each to upgrade. However ATD are quoting £50 each (and there are 5 of us on the booking although only 3 of us need the 21 day tickets) and saying it is a set price due to us booking with the dining plan.

Does anyone know if there’s anything we can do to get the Disney direct price? Would Disney upgrade us directly or just refer us back to our travel agents? Is it possible to upgrade to a 21 day ticket once we are out there? Would it be worth considering upgrading to an annual pass out there instead (we are DVC members but through resale so no member benefits)?

Sorry for all the questions - thanks in advance!

Not sure if Disney would be able to do anything about upgrading tickets bought through an agency. They may be able to upgrade to Annual Pass but unless you are looking to go ahead with another holiday within a year this would be more expensive than you have already been quoted. Also, you would need to make sure that no Blackout dates, restrictions on park hopping etc could be a consequence of this action.

The price will be what the tickets were during free dining, not what they are now which is lower. There’s really nothing you can do and Disney won’t be able to help as you didn’t book with them.

Hi
Don’t know if this helps but we upgraded 14 day tickets to 21 day tickets last year. We bought them during free dining but as part of a package direct via Disney. We had to pay £50 each to upgrade.

Thanks for the replies!

I should have mentioned that we are considering another trip in May next year (although not 100% at the moment) hence why we thought an annual pass upgrade might be a better option. Without having the DVC member benefits I’m not sure it will be worth it though...

I guess the £50pp wouldn’t be so bad if we could just pay that for the 3 people that need it - but having to pay for 2 extra people who will only actually be using it for 8 or 9 days stings a little!

Best thing to do is contact a CM at WDW and clarify what your options could be regarding the Annual Pass. It may be that this is only an option if you originally bought the tickets from them.

We upgraded our 14 day tickets to 21 day with Disney & paid £40 each. That was what the price difference was during the free dining offer.
