Sanaa - cheap Indian or fab restaurant?

The first time we went we all absolutely loved the meal but on the second visit I wasn't keen on my meal. Someone must have overhead DH and I discussing the meal because the next thing I knew a Manager, or whoever they have in charge, was over at the table and insisted that I didn't eat it if I didn't like it and choose something else from the menu.

They were keen that I choose another meal as they wanted me to be happy/enjoy my meal. My second choice was terrific, I really enjoyed it.

We ate in the lounge last week. We shared 3 starters, the bread service, Samosas (which were delicious) and a set if 3 salads which I didn't eat as they all had cucumber which I don't eat.

The bread and Samosas were both delicious.

bland and tasteless summed it up for us, zero spice in anything, the " curry dish " was just tasteless, paneer tikka, lentil dhal & chickpea wat, of course we were not expecting it to be spicy, but a little taste might have been nice, you could have been blindfolded and tasted it all and not seen any difference

I honestly am lost to see why people rave about the place, if a few different Naan is your thing, then go for it, otherwise avoid
