Booking Economy in the bubble- price rise?

Just been having a root around the VA website and it appears that they now want £35 to sit upstairs rather than the £28 that we paid. A nice 25% increase there.

It’s been that for a while now. We booked early in year for sept and that was the price

Sorry to butt in on your thread but thinking of booking with virgin next year and keep seeing posts about the bubble on virgin - what is it that makes people want those seats ... just thinking of when I make my seat selections, thank you 😊

In my experience it's worthwhile.

It just tends to be a little bit more relaxed and it feels like there's slightly more space. Also, you tend to get more attentive service as there's often a dedicated cabin crew member just for the bubble.

That's odd as we booked in September and definitely paid £28. Don't know if it makes a difference that we were using Reward seats but I wouldn't have thought so.

Plus often (not always) you get off the aircraft before the rest of economy dowstairs. Can save you waiting in a big line in immigration.

We chose to pay extra for the bubble as my wife and daughter have never been in there and thought it would be a nice experience. As the world's airlines appear to be phasing the 747s out of use it seemed sewnsible to do it while we can. We paid £28 extra which is less than £3 per hour, if you look at it that way, for an experience that is a little bit different.

We booked early in the year and travelled Sept.
our booking was before the Virgin seat class changes so we had to pay £35 each for the seats in bubble.

Totally agree, it feels like you're on a private jet I would imagine as there are a limited number of seats up there, when you get up and go for a walk downstairs you realise how big the 747 is as you forget the size upstairs
