Chris Broad is a legend!

John Daub who does only in Japan is really really good better than chris as he shows you unique things to see and do much more than chris but chris highlights just how good Japan is from a British point of view

We based ourselves in Tokyo all the time and did alternate day trips

I hate having to change hotels on holiday if it’s a major city and as we liked the train so much it made sense

If I had to do a split stay I would start in Osaka and do day trips to Kyoto as it’s so close and then end up Tokyo for the second half as getting back to the airport would be easier

We missed out on seeing Kyoto and Osaka at night which was a shame but i am only a fan of the split stay while on site at Disney!

Kevin, I totally get you as I too don't want to traipse around. Even in Orlando I take time out, but always have a base. I could do that then as my son is fascinated with the trains anyway, so it would be good. Thanks for that
