Mobile Road Trip

So we have finally decided on the following holiday for August/September 2020.
Nashville, Smokey Mountains, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island and home
I am looking for the following fly drive
Manchester - Nashville
Return
Atlanta - Manchester
The best I can find is with BA but they are coming out at £800ish pp.
Can anybody suggest a good place to look for a cheaper deal?
Do you think the price for this route will drop with BA if they have a sale in December?
All help greatly received from you lovely Dibbers

Have you considered driving back to Nashville? Simple return flights are usually cheaper, and it may save the one-way charge on the car hire. It's not that far and you could visit Chattanooga. I only ever book flights on release, so don't know much about BA sales. Where have you looked? Ebookers/expedia have good prices especially if you get quidco cashback.

Actually return flights to Atlanta will probably be cheaper still. See if you can go indirect from a smaller airport via Manchester, can save even more.

I have visited all the areas you have mentioned and an honest opinion is dont spend a lot of time at Myrtle beach. The beach is ok but the area is a bit run down. We visited last June for a music festival and didnt feel safe at night around the beach boardwalk area. The Smokey mountains are beautiful though.

We are doing similar next year but ideally want flights in and out of Charlotte. The plan is to do a loop starting in the Smokies, a night in Atlanta, down to the Panhandle of Florida, a night in Sawgrass before finishing up in Hilton Head. Our original plan included Myrtle Beach but after reading a few bad reviews on here we decided to drop it.
I’m still waiting on flights, nothing suitable below £700-800pp at the moment. I’ve checked Nashville, Atlanta and Jacksonville too as I could make them work if the price is right. I’ve got a feeling we’ll end up booking in the Xmas sales this year, have done for the past 2 years.
The whole adding on bags is bringing up the total price too, this is why we quite like booking a BA fly drive as they’re included then

We spent a week at the end of our May 19 holiday on Hilton Head, it was beautiful, spent our days on the beach, cycling and relaxing, so many lovely restaurants, miles of beach and very pretty. We did NY for a few days, flew down to Charleston for four nights, we did have one day at Myrtle beach, they’ve redone the Boardwalk since we were last there, but a day was enough for us.
