Decision made, new machine ordered with AO, being delivered Saturday. Free delivery, will take the old one away and I found a 10% code on line - result! Fingers crossed it'll last as long as the old one.

Definitely vouch for Miele mine is 17 years old, still looks like new, has never had any problems and washing always comes out clean. More expensive to purchase initially but cheaper in the long run as it keeps going.
