We travel to Dubai often and love it. Summer heat is no problem as kids in the pool all day anyway. Friday Brunch is a large buffet lunch with more food then you can think of/eat that is offered at most luxury holidays on a Friday. It's very popular with the expat locals as Friday is the only non work day each week for office workers.

Just a hint for anyone thinking about going to Dubai and Abu Dhabi always check dates for Ramadam. This can affect what the hotels can offer and the dates change every year.

No they didn't ask at all. You've got me wondering now if I was naughty! We took some chocolate bars and crisps just to keep the kids happy in the room.

Nothing pork based allowed so my nephew is out of luck for his "scratchings". I usually by a bottle of spirits at incoming duty free in Dubai airport as normally cheaper than London and just by some soft drinks at the supermarkets usually Carrefour or Waitrose.

Some hotels and restaurants will serve pork but it's always in a different area and prepared by a particular chef. There is a pork room at the back of Waitrose through a black door! I also stop at duty free on arrivals!

It is almost as hilarious getting pork through the Waitrose door as it is shopping in the Karama 😉

Hi, if any of you like fast cars, Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi and the track tour might be of use. There is also a place on the walk called green planet. It's in the entertainer and I wouldn't go out of my way, but if your there it would be good. Dubai mall, Mall of the Emirates and the ski dubai stuff may be a hit. Hopefully someone else will be along soon, lol. The beach by Marina walk and that whole area is really nice too.
