Sorry...another 144 hour Visa question!

We are flying direct to Shanghai for 5 days / 4 nights, then flying to Tokyo for 10 days. So far, so easy...

But then, on our way home, we will fly from Tokyo back to Shanghai just for an overnighter, to fly back home on the 11am flight the next morning from Shanghai.

Would we therefore be covered, or is this 2 separate entries and we will have to apply for a proper visa?

Thanks.

Yes that’s fine, you just need to enter China from one country and leave to a different one

Ah sorry I didn’t see the bit about entering China twice, maybe email the embassy to be certain.

You should be OK as you will be in Japan long enough. You cannot return if your 144hr visa is still valid.

I flew Lhr- Shanghai, had a 3 hour layover then flew to Tokyo and 2 weeks later flew Tokyo- Shanghai and spent 7 days there before flying home.
You should have no problem at all.

Hi, just wanted to find out if you can do this using separate flight tickets, ie. Booking with different airlines doing your DIY holiday, like London- Kuala Lumpur/Shanghai- London one airline and booking with a different airline the Kuala Lumpur- Shanghai portion. Sorry to use your post OP and thanks for all the info.

Yes you can .
I booked a Lhr - shanghai return with Austrian airways and then booked return flights from Shanghai to Tokyo with ana airways separately.
