DD has received an e-mail from UWE confirming her offer of accommodation.

She’s very happy as she’s got her first choice.

It’s all getting so real now!

She can move in from the 12th September, less than four months away!

Great news MM. She moves in the week before my DD at Bristol University (she won’t get her room allocated until after results) What area of Bristol is her accommodation? Maybe they will be neighbours 😀

She’s on campus and it’s Frenchay - such an easy drive for us from South Wales. Over the bridge, then I think it’s the M32 for a few miles and you’re there.

It’s about a mile from Parkway train station and there’s a small retail park with a huge ASDA within walking distance so it does seem really perfect.

I’m hoping she can find out who else is in her flat so they can discuss who brings what - no point ending up with six tin openers!

I think I need to start compiling a list of what she’ll need. I’ve started buying bits but I think I need to be a bit more organised now.

I do know the area, we caught the train replacement bus to Parkway for one visit and then the train into city centre. My daughter is hoping to be in the city centre alongside the river.

I agree Bristol is not far from us here in South Wales for driving or by train as it has great train links

It seems like a really nice city - living by the river would be lovely. Fingers crossed she gets what she wants.

I think it’s about four or five miles from UWE into the city but the bus stops on the campus so it seems pretty easy.

Great news about her accommodation! Really brings it home just how close it is now 😮😭

History went okay, a few different questions than what they were expecting but Ben thinks he done okay. Geography tomorrow - his weakest subject, he is really not looking forward to it.

The bus network looks really good in Bristol, we only get one bus an hour which stops at 6pm at home so Georgia will appreciate a decent bus service.

She also gets a free bus pass for the first year at University of Bristol, does UWE provide this too? That will be a great help with their budgeting

Not sure about a bus pass, will definitely get her to look into that - it’d be a big saving when she wants to go into the city.
