My husband booked a surprise big birthday trip away for me..he confused Copenhagen with Gothenberg lol
My birthday is the end of September, it was grey and wet.Gothenberg is an industrial port really, though if you are into shopping there are some very nice shops
It wasnt grey and wet the whole weekend if im honest , thete are trams and boats if you want to explore

Never been myself, but I know Volvo have a great museum at the main dealership there, it’s meant to be really good.

I was there for a conference in September, the city looked ok although I didn't get the chance to explore due to KLM cancelling my flights and having to leave early and re-route through Copenhagen.

There is a large theme park which was across the road from my hotel but not sure it will be open in December.

We stopped for a day on ours cruise in August. I can’t really tell you that much about the city as we had realised we hadn’t brought enough of my sons lifesaving medication so we’re running around trying to sort that out! The city was very clean, everyone spoke great English and were very helpful. We did buy the Gothenburg city pass which gives you use of the hoho bus and admission to loads of places which we did use the bus and I think would have been great value had we been able to use it properly.
