Best school holiday to go

Ok, idea 1 & 2 (2013) out of the window due to a dose of reality that
we haven't got a money tree at the end of the garden and limited days of leave from work.
So now left with long term planning (2014).
What school holidays are best for value for money, how busy & offers that will come available from DLP?

2014 is way too far out to be thinking realistic pricing and offers for DLP yet.

DLP run 2 brochures and price schemes per year, not just one, as they get a lot of regular trade from folks doing long weekends or even just day trips or overnighters.

These come out as the Spring/Summer and the Winter brochure.

The next one which will cover Spring/Summer 2013 due out Late Sept / Early Oct time.

DLP always run offers but, as I've just said in another thread, when you see them, book them!

I know its too early for pricing etc for 2014, but just wanted a general idea on school holidays.
Would Easter or June half term (whit week) on a mid-week basis be better?

When looking at prices, I always find that february half term is the cheapest school holiday to go. The rest seem really expensive. Or, if you can go just after christmas, say jan 2nd or 3rd, that would be cheap

yep, I agree with jojj - Feb half term is the cheapest and quietest (usually) school holiday to go to DLP. DLP always has under-12s free plus up to 40% off or 2days/nights free deals in the period January to March each year.

Then, for price and quietness in the parks it would probably be May half term, followed by October half term and Easter half term equally (this is because Easter holidays are spread out across Europe and the UK so if your Easter school holidays are not actually at Easter, and they don't clash with French school holidays, they won't be mega expensive or mega-busy). October half term can be expensive and very busy if it includes the 31st October, because most of Europe, including all French schools, typically have this week off too.

We quite often go may half term and is usually not too busy if you go during the week but busy on a weekend. The weather is usually more predictable and a bit warmer

We have been in feb half term before but it was freezing and snowy and with 2 very small children it was just more hassle than anything!

We do half terms now, did June half term this year and going again in October half term (which doesn't include Hallowe'en this year so French schools off the week after). We are also going next March as DH can't get Feb half term off work, but have done Feb half term before. We have avoided Easter as I thought it would be busy with all european schools off, thought we all had Easter at the same time. Feb half term is the cheapest, but June half term was lovely, it was busy but manageable. Main thing is to avoid weekends whenver you go.

Thanks for all the advise.
Feb half term would be good with the 40% offers, but I don't like the cold.
May/June half term sounds good, we would go mid-week anyway so thats not a problem. Do DLP usually have good offers that cover May/June half term?

Can't remember when the offer came up but we booked June half term with 30% off, kids under 7 free. Don't think we've ever paid full pric2e at DLP.
