Fastpass+ Testing at Magic Kingdom
Yesterday saw Disney's Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Orlando start testing Fastpass+ for all guests. All the old paper style Fastpass machines were switched off and offsite guests were given a Fastpass+ flyer to explain things.
Guests were directed to kiosks where they could select up to three Disney Fastpass+ experiences. The kiosks are located Near Pete's Silly Sideshow, Near the Diamond Horseshoe, next to Stitch's Great Escape and Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Am I right in thinking you have to do this for each guest like the Fastpass system? If so that could take quite a long time with huge queues.
I also see Splash Mountain isn't on the list, why is that?

You can group people together so that you don't need to do each individually. I think Splash is down for refurb at the moment which is probably why it's not on the list

If you are traveling as a group, you can combine them together at a kiosk so you only have to make selections once for all members of your party.

Reports from guests that were there yesterday suggest that the new system works very well. Queues at the kiosks were probably less or at least no more than they would have been at the legacy fastpass machines.
However this is early days, a lot of offsite guests were maybe confused by the new system and didn't bother using it as it seems the Cast Members were having to actively encourage guests to use the Fastpass+ kiosks. The only real test of how this affects guests will be when everyone is comfortable with the new system and when it is a busy period, at the moment it is a quiet period. Overall the Fastpass+ system seems to be getting more positive reviews than negative. Some of the negative reviews are coming from those guests that knew how to maximise the old fastpass system as they are now limited to only 3 fastpass experiences.

I wonder if the fastpass kiosks are turned on when people are entering the park before it opens for breakfast dining reservations. Initial reports from people in the know on Twitter were "probably not", but nobody has said for definite.

Will offsite guests be able to book fastpasses online prior to arrival or only at the park on the day of their visit ?
