Santander 123 Account Rate cute!
Just seen this on the BBC- It appears that they are halving there rates!
"Santander is halving the rate on its hugely popular 123 high interest current account, in a move that will hit more than 500,000 savers, reports The Daily Telegraph. The rate will be cut from 3% to 1.5% on 1 November. The account - adverts for which have featured the likes of Jessica Ennis-Hill, Jenson Button, Rory McIlroy and Lewis Hamilton - is hugely popular and has signed up hundreds of thousands of customers since its launch four years ago." Me and the wife recently opened a 123 account based on the good advice on here. So the bank rate drops 0.25% and they cut 1.5% off their rate!

This was going to happen. It had better interest than most savings accounts and was good while it lasted.

I changed over to Santander in March and have been delighted with the amount of interest I have earned compared with my old Lloyds account so am very disappointed to hear about this massive drop in interest rates, will have to shop around again.
