Mobile Flying nyc ba Saturday. Do I check in online?

I think I'm confusing myself so think dibbers will straighten me out. We fly Saturday morning Bhx nyc with BA codeshare AA
I selected seats for no charge as it let me when I booked back in May.
I've checked them often and they haven't changed. We have dd9 and ds12 travelling with us. I looked at finding my tall hubby more leg room but it didn't show availability at the time.

Anyway question is do I checked in online 24 hours before to secure my seats hopefully

Or is there an advantage of waiting to airport and getting a better seat for hubby? Is this even likely or a roulette game that might lose our chance of sitting together?

I just don't fly enough to know which is better choice so I'm asking dibbers please! Advice welcomed and thanks in advance

Note we will be at Bhx well over two hours before as we live a short ride away.

Our kids don't even know we are off on holiday. So they'll be the noisy ones In departures!

You may have to check in with AA not BA but your seats should be ok
