Volunteering is a great way to tackle depression as you will focus on something that will give you some real satisfaction and something to look forward to during the week. I realise that this may not work for everyone but there are so many positives in volunteering that it might just help in a small way.

Sorry to hear of your problems.
All the advice I agree with.
Get out get moving walk run anything, always cheers me up, that & CAKE 😋
Make a list of all the things to do, do one each day & tick it off
Write a positive thing down each day, that you are thankful for.
Try & ask around to do extra work or help for free 🤔
Keep your chin up 😎

I have fortunately only had depression once in my life and that was when I was a teenager. I used to sit on the stairs and stare into space for hours but as I say I was lucky that it passed and never reoccurred for me. It was a strange time though.

My very unprofessional suggestion is to get a white board for the kitchen and set yourself (both of you) a task for each day of the week. Start small, it could be a mundane task such as clean the bathroom, but it could also be a nice task like go to a coffee shop for a coffee.

Obviously not replacing any professional care you should simultaneously seek.

It's very brave of the OP to reach out to the Dibb community, and great that they felt, in the moment they posted, strong enough to ask for help and trusted us not to judge or preach.
So many kind, helpful people have made good suggestions... However I wonder if the OP even has the energy to read through 5 pages.

OP I'm sending you a massive virtual hug - please take care of yourself as best you can and please come back when you can.

I am very sorry you are going through this we went through a similar phase with my husband we used to live in the South of France and it was similar to you only jobs in the summer and i the middle of the winter break it started to get tight one year it got so bad that we decided that was it! We made a plan to improve our lives even if it was hard we started to move things around and sell things we didn't need we also made a plan and started to look for work elsewhere it was hard thinking we would leave all our family but no choice we couldn't continue.
Our plan made we decided to move so we put as much money as we could aside during the summer live on bare minimum started selling things off to have most minimal things to move and at the end of the summer we started looking for jobs permanent positions with no luck we started looking abroad and thats when my husband found a job in another country so he went first and got the job, the house and set us up and I followed a couple of months later with pets and DD and the things we had kept. I have to say wasn't easy but now 8years later we are so happy we made that decision as we have 2 jobs DD is bilingual now and so is my dh he didn't speak more that hello, yes and I don't understand 😂😂 when we moved. But our lives are so much better with 2jobs and no more worrying
