Same for my DS, it’s two of his better subjects so hoping he can end on a high . It’s certainly been a rollercoaster of feelings and not one I wish to repeat anytime soon 😀

My middle ds had German this afternoon and ranked it 8.5/10 for listening but said the reading was hard, only 6.5/10 for that one.

Daughter said maths was on yesterday but said chemistry was difficult. 2 more to go then that is it. I got a call from school asking if I give permission for her to stay home from Monday. This is down to all the arguments from yr11 and some parents ringing school due to them wanting to yr11 to remain in school until end of the school year. Of course I said yes, what else are they going to do, u had to agree that she is going to be my responsibility especially if any safeguarding incidents occur, yep it's called being a responsible parent of a 16yr old. However not every yr11 is allowed to leave.

DS found both Chemistry and Electronics today were both hard - and they are 2 of his strongest subjects, predicted 8s in both!
He has 3 left and it's increasingly hard to keep him focused to the end...

I find this all very bizarre! If it wasn’t for the Dibb I would have known that some schools keep students after their exams. What “lessons” do they do? I could see some value in life skills of some type.

As far as DS is concerned he has 1 hour 45 mins of school left (physics - Friday) and then that’s it, apart from results day, he never has to go to school again! He doesn’t know it’s his best years yet

Nearly there everyone x

DD came out of Maths confident that she had passed which is all she needs but found the History difficult and the things she revised didn't come up. She's not convinced she's passed, even though she is predicted a 7. Chemistry was hard but okay.

She has Dance tomorrow and Physics on Friday and then she is done - thank giidnt! I don't remember being so stressed when my other two did their GCSEs.

With regard to students having to stay in school until the end of the school year, what is the pount? The kids at my school think they were hard done by to only get exam leave this week and at DD's school they finished at half term. I can't imagine the disruption they would cause of they had to stay in school.

Seems very odd getting your child to stay in school till the end of the school year. Exactly what others have said what on Earth will they be doing?
My dds school finishes Friday lunchish. She has an exam tomorrow and her last one on Friday. She’s counting down the hours..
