Universal and Islands on a weekend in August? Bad idea?

Hi all.

We're planning to stay 1 night in the Royal Pacific Hotel to get the early entry and express pass perks for 2 days, but currently our itinerary works out that we would be doing these parks on a Friday and Saturday in the middle of August. Having looked at the Busy Day Guide I see Universal is suggested as quiet on the Friday but then both parks very busy on the Saturday.

We can change this idea, would you move to week days instead or do you think seeing as we're staying onsite and have the express passes and early entry we won't need to? I'm just thinking the parks overall and the eateries etc will be busy?

Thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks

It's usually busier with locals over the weekend, but it shouldn't affect you if you have Express Pass

We have visited Universal twice in August including weekends. As others said, with Express, it shouldn’t be too bad. We found the water rides in IOA had some of the biggest queues, so, if interested in those, I’d do them early.
