BA from Gatwick to Tampa - highly recommended
Usually only ever use Virgin from Manchester or Gatwick to Orlando International but on checking the prices this time BA were a few hundred pounds cheaper so went for them. Last time with Virgin we weren't that impressed, stroppy staff and the usual quality from them wasn't there.
BA this time was fantastic. Were on one of the refurb 777's and the touch screen was very responsive indeed, hardly had to tap it unlike Virgin when the people behind us were playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire for 8 hours solid last time, tap, tap, tap in the back of your head. Lots of choice on the movies and TV shows. Staff very friendly, anything you asked for they brought straight away like extra drinks. Kids meal was nuggets and mash which is much more kid friendly than Virgin last time. When we got to Tampa, straight though in 20 mins. Drive to Davenport just over an hour, would definitely recommend this route and BA if you are thinking about it. Edited at 06:15 PM. |

Good review, well done. I have looked at this route a few times but what puts me off is paying for seat selection which when I do the maths brings VA and BA very close together for the PE cabin.

Glad to hear it, we're on that flight two weeks tomorrow.
Thanks for mentioning the kids meal option, sounds like something my fussy kids might actually eat. Would you mind telling me what the adult meal was?

Good to hear! We usually fly Heathrow to Miami but got a really good deal flying Gatwick to Tampa and Miami to Heathrow home for October.
Have a lovely holiday!

We have always had good flights and service with BA too. I’d always pick them if the price is right.

Awesome, I know for sure now that they are going to strike on our flight day as that is what we are intending to fly and I'm not that lucky to have chosen a great flight!
@MEGGYJOE - We fly the same as you!

We flew Gla-LGW-Tampa with BA on 30th June this year. Great flight and we got 4 seats together in the middle. 1st time at Tampa but very impressed, very friendly staff and we were out through immigration, luggage collected and monorail to rental car and in car within 40mins. Its seems a much calmer airport than MCO so if price was good would def have as 1st choice.
