We didn’t find this to be the case everywhere was often told no we can’t do that. Then they would just give us an adults meal with the fries.
My kids won’t be happy to eat the apple slices or carrots like I’m all for healthy choices at home but on holiday it’s whatever you want.

I was hoping we would get some feedback from dibbers out there right now but nothing yet it seems.

Whatever is happening its going to end up complicated...

For example if I have a lot of adult and kid credits and we go somewhere with just a adults menu. I am obviously going to want to the kids credit to be taken to pay for the actual kid and not a adult credit... but I can see only adult credits being taken off the account or having the argue with a cast member... This is going to be a right mess I reckon... and that is presuming my original post isn't right and the kid won't be out right refused a meal.

Suppose im lucky as I wont be doing many QS.

I'm interested to see how this pans out. I'm kind of glad I didn't pay to upgrade from QSDP to DDP now, as I had rough plans made that we could share QSDP for breakfast to stretch them out a bit. Perhaps now I'll consider adulting my kids tickets to give adult QSDP, but definitely wouldn't upgrade to DDP then.

We go in the summer, so will see how it all works out over the next while.

I am not quite sure how I feel about all of this to be honest.
When my older two children were younger it would not be a problem. But my youngest will be 7 when we travel and the amount of food on a child’s QS is fine but because of his food allergies & food phobias (caused by his food allergies) there is not much he can eat. He can’t eat any fruit or root veg. So a side of fruit or carrot sticks is no good. Peanut butter & jam sandwiches are a big no no. He doesn’t like burgers. He can’t live off a few nuggets every day.
We would usually let him snack throughout the day on danishes etc but now you can only exchange one child’s QS for 1 snack?
And you can’t change the side of fruit to something else?

We do have all his medical letters and specialists letters plus school care plan etc so I wonder if I take those they could substitute fruit?
We are a in family room at CBR for 5 so we can’t upgrade him to an adults ticket plus we have all upgraded to the DDP so there would be that extra cost too.

We haven't upgraded the dining plan. We are a family of 5 in CBR and we paid to upgrade our youngests ticket to adult...maybe if you paid the upgrade you could fit an extra restaurant or 3 in and just pay the child price for your son in the TS places to make paying for his upgrade work for you?

By the time we pay the extra to upgrade to DDP for 12 nights it would be quite expensive. He could not manage an adults TS meal it would be throwing money away. It’s just during the day really. But I suppose we could just buy him extra snacks when needed

What I meant though was that you could pay his upgrade...your family have 15 TS meals instead of 12 for example and pay for him a child meal at your TS meals out of pocket so that you would be seeing the value out of paying the upgrade.
The changes are affecting people like you most as the changes are forcing the extra upgrade costs .

For me the £20 was an easy decision even if we saw it as snack credits the change meant losing 84 for us which is massive.

I wonder if upgrading our daughters ticket is something we should look into. For those who have done it, is it easy to do? Do Disney question why you want to do this?

My DH was completely honest and said due to the changes and lack of options on the kids meals we wanted DS to have the adult meals and therefore upgrade his to an adult ticket... think they will be pretty used to it at the min. They just amended his DOB to upgrade the ticket.
