Question 3D making you feel ill?

DD has never liked 3D! When we do any of the shows in Florida she always refuses to wear the glasses, but has never really explained why she just says she doesn't like the effects! Well today she has been to see Avatar and had to leave half way through to be sick! She assumes it was the effects that made her feel ill as she felt perfectly fine until she started watching the film! Does 3D have this affect on anyone else or is it just a coincidence?

They were talking about this on tv the other day. Not sure what programme it was on as I wasn't really taking much notice but they were talking about it making people feel dizzy and sick.

It gives me a headache tension right between the eyes, I try and see 2d if possible rather than 3d.. I am fine with the short shows but not with the length of a film.

Quite a lot of people suffer with this. It is a visual perception problem where your brain thinks you are moving. it is a kin to sea sickness!

Although I don't feel sick watching the 3D films I do get a headache from it.

It always gives me a thumping headache.

Until they sort it out (if they can) I certainly wont be investing in a 3d telly any year soon.

Hope your daughter is feeling OK now.

Cheers
Pete

It has exactly the same effect on me too. It never used to, I was fine the first time we went to Florida and did the 3D/4D shows but when we went in November if I wore the glasses I very quickly felt nauseous, yet that settled if I removed the glasses. I don't know if it plays a part but I get travel sick (in a car not on a rollercoaster) and suffer with occassional vertigo, maybe its linked in some way.

Ive heard a few say this about 3d glasses, especially with avatar too, Hope beth is ok now

I sometimes suffer from motion sickness but the only ride that made me feel ill was star tours, the 3d ones have never bothered me
when in the front of a car I cant even turn round to speak to the person in the back without feeling sick,

I don't like 3D either. Have never watched a full 3D film but the ones at Disney make me feel a bit funny after a while. I wear the glasses becasue I find it even worse if you are trying to watch a 3d film without them. I enjoy the ones at disney as long as they don't last too long. Hope she is feeling better soon

I'm so pleased it's a common thing - if that makes sense! I suffer from severe motion sickness on rides, but 3D has never affected me! She's feeling fine now bless her, but i bet that's the last time she wastes £7.50 at the movies!

3d makes me feel queazy as well and I cannot see the 3d effect, think it is to do with my sight impairment! glad I am not the only one but do wish I could see it properly!
