RunDisney 2018
Yes, 2018.
I'm turning 30 next year and so am considering doing either the 10K or the half marathon (but probably the 10K), as a challenge. How likely is it that the RunDisney weekend will be the same as it was this and last year? Last year it was Fri 23rd - Sun 25th Sept, this year it's Thu 21st - Sun 24th Sept. What's the consensus on 2018 being Thu 20th - Sun 23rd Sept? Currently, the Santa Fe is £582 for two adults, four nights, as there's the 2 nights free offer on, for Wed through Sun. Obviously plus the race entry. And if I booked the hotel on its own before the 2 nights free offer ends, what are the chances of getting a bib only entry when they open up, as it seems quite short notice (June this year)? |

It's probably likely but given that 2017 is only the second year it's hard to be certain. The 10k was only new for 2017 and they haven't sold out so there are no guarantees theyll run it next year.

I think most of us are assuming it will be the same weekend next year but I would hold off booking anything for a few more weeks as the dates will likely be announced at or just after this year's events

I'd say it's a good bet to be the same weekend. Bib only went on sale in the Jan/Feb for the 2016 run if I remember rightly (not sure why so much later this year) with the packages going on sale in around November. I think the date for this year got put on the run disney website only a few days after the run last year so if you do want to book hotel and bib separately you won't have long to wait to get the room booked.
I'd say you'll be fine getting a bib only, especially as there are still bibs left now for some races, whether they do the 10k again next year is anyone's guess though. Both years I've booked with Cogo travel. I've paid just over a £1000 for 2 adults at the Cheyenne for 3 nights, 4 days of park tickets, breakfast included (which i find interesting now it's an extra) 2 10K entries and 2 half marathon entries. I am tempted to book on my own next year though to make the most offers disney put on rather than paying rack prices. Just for info, this year the prices for the run were £73 for the half and £53 for the 10k. I'm not sure on how much the 5k was I'm afraid.

Thanks. I've currently costed it at around £500 each assuming bib only is £50ish, and flights are £150 (ballpark!) for four nights at the Santa Fe.
Now to see if I can convince DH I should be spending £500 on a trip to DLP when we're off to WDW two months later! If dates are released so soon then I'll definitely wait, thanks! |

I'm sure you can convince him. We only going back from WDW in May so just over 3 months between our trips. And I'm trying to convince him into a Christmas season DLP trip too!

If you like the price why not a cheeky trip anyway? And if the race is on bonus if not it's still a cheeky trip!
I'd assume it's that weekend though |

Just occurred to me, if DLP announce the dates, will then they exclude that weekend from the free nights offer?
I've a feeling I looked for this year and it said the free nights offer didn't apply on those dates? Or have I made that up? |

I just checked in the last couple of days and there are still bibs available for this year's 10K and half marathon, although the 5K has long since sold out.
I've booked off site though, can't really justify the premium that Disney is asking for their on site hotels for DLP!
