I’ve bought MB from the Shopdisney website and I don’t remember there being any little plastic tag to isolate the battery and there aren’t any when when we’ve collected our MBs at the hotel

Same here, I've just unpacked a HM one for DD to link - no sign of any tab, and same for the 30+ bands we've each had delivered to hotel in the last few years.

I can remember a thread about the batteries a few years ago. The batteries apparently last two years but are only needed for interactive operations.. The card readers used by Disney machines such as entry turnstiles payment points etc reads the band as long as it’s in touch with it. Your band has a readable chip in it which requires no battery. Correct me if I’m wrong. Tbh you won’t ever use them again if staying on Disney property.

Yes, I was told they didn’t know and just to keep checking back (useful!)

We have 6 or 7 of them and when we return home they go in the cupboard never to be seen again because we know we can get new ones next year. Disney marketing is brilliant. They have literally cast a few worms caused a frenzy when they dipped them in the water and will now sit back whilst we panic buy as the bands inevitably reappear.
I’m staying retro this year as I’m sure il stand out with a plain band against everyone else’s themed ones. Il cast a smile knowing my ten dollars are safely tucked away.
I don’t argue they are cheap tat really, I am not bothered for me, and I wouldn’t buy a full price one, but I thought for $10 each my kids would enjoy picking one out and having the characters. They were excited about the ones they picked, and I am disappointed because I promised them something that I didn’t know was limited stock, and they probably now can’t have. Personally I was sticking with plain regardless

Can’t you still buy them at the stores ?

I prefer the plain ones and I like the fac5 that they personalise them but I would not pay a penny more for any of them.

On the shop there's all of them that were on the upgrade list and more,
I can't believe they would sell out, it wouldn't surprise me if it was more an IT issue as they never seem to get that right first time
Unless you need it with in the next week I would expect them to get it sorted, soon as they can as I'm sure they are not wanting to lose out of all that money coming in
Luckily I have a lonnnnngggggg count down to go so plenty of time before I have to chose, I had a look to see what was available when they did have them but I didn't want to pick to soon as they will release new designs before we go and then I'd have to miss out possibly on choosing one I like better?

I could if they still have the same ones by the time we get there, but it would mean spending $75 rather than $30, and as I said before I didn’t feel the full price was worth it but was ok with paying $10 each

Your quite right. Regarding the kids it’s really sad they cant pick the ones they want. I was commenting on an adults perspective. Good luck in getting the bands soon.
