ESTA, US clarifies given name requirement

I'm just reapplying for DH and when I upload his passport, next to his first and middle name, it has generated this: DZC Z
Does anybody have any idea what it means? There's nothing saying that on his passport.

My friend has said when she uploaded hers it had a load of extra symbols at the end aswell and said it was faffy to upload it. This doesn’t sound straight forward either as you still need to check it or so it seems!

I’m waiting until I see some sort of official confirmation on:

1. The date in October when this became active.
2. A statement saying that before that date you don’t need to reapply.

I’m not acting on a “ someone saw it on Facebook”
type of confirmation.

I agree and might contact them. Lucky for me I have no middle name but I'd like to know the date that it's supposed to have changed as like I've said previously I did dmil's in November and she travelled without any problems.

I messaged them about mine as mine has been valid from Feb 18 so think it will be fine but just to make sure. If they come back with a date I will screenshot it!
I can’t believe it isn’t on any of the FAQ’s!

Yes, his 21st! Me & hubby went last year to LV & he was itching to come so I know he’ll love it with a few days in SF before hand!

Aww that’s a fab present. My daughter was 21 this year and I bought a surprise box which when opened told her the reveal! So ours is New York and when the box lid came off there is all Manhattan landmarks and a big yellow taxi with a message on - something for her to keep. Not sure a boy would find the same thrill as girls are into things like this but he might. Message me if you want me to send a pic. I know the seller can do custom made designs so you could have all the iconic landmarks of where you are going
