We were on a Flybe flight. They went bust (yet again) and I got a S75 refund on my card within a week of claim.

We looked at Trains, but the line is closed between Plymouth and Exeter at the moment. We would have had to do this bit on a GWR coach. In addition, there is a strike today.

We looked at Cars, but parking prices are now very high.. and the Petrol..and the redeye journey back to Penryn after crossing 8 time zones (and 3 more a couple of days preceding that). No way, Jose!

We reluctantly booked a National Express Coach. It is a 9 hour journey 😩
Coming back, it is an overnight in Prem Inn T5 after landing at 1645 hrs (too late for railways or coach), followed by trains the next morning.. T5- Reading, Reading - Truro, Truro- Penryn.

Thanks for the ‘heads up’ such things are always much appreciated. If I said that I would like to place the heads of the Flybe management teams on Spits, I would be understating my anger. They were still selling tickets on the night before they announced receivership. Many people have lost their jobs at no notice.

I’m really liking the way your trip report is all in one thread, with the posts for each day reserved underneath each other. Might follow that idea on a future trippie.

I have no idea how you can manage to pack so lightly though. Seriously impressive!

Mandie would like to pack heavier.. but still likes the speed at which we are able to travel on foot, bus, train, airport check ins, immigration and customs, bypassing baggage reclaim etc.
You clearly cannot have it both ways. I have cunningly left spare volume, just in case I can get some Levi’s in Seattle.

This method of posting works very well for us. When I have completed the trip, I have a clear story, unabridged by comments of fellow Dibbers. I can print it off!
I love getting responses and try to answer every one of them out of courtesy as well as to assist others, but there is no need for them to be interplanted within my single thread, running and hopefully epic tome.

You can stand by for instalment no1 tomorrow evening!
