CSR & AKL Booked 3rd Party - moving resorts via Disney
Hello,
I booked my holiday via ATD and was due to stay at CSR. When they announced the pool being closed, Disney were able to change my resort to POFQ and said they would let ADR know which was great. However that was 12 days ago and ATD say they haven't heard anything from Disney about it yet. Has anyone else booked via a third party (VH, ATD etc) and due to the construction contacted Disney who changed their booking FOC? Have your invoices with the third party supplier changed yet to match the new hotel? I'm worried and ATD seems a bit annoyed Disney changed it without asking them. Thanks Sweety_pie_747

Has your resort changed on MDE yet?
If not I would be tempted to call Disney back and check it's been processed correctly on their side. Often they would refer you back to your TA in the first instance if you haven't booked through them but given they have moved you without doing so I wouldn't hesitate in contacting them again to check they've actioned what was agreed. Then it's sorted, it's just an admin issue. Not sure why ATD aren't volunteering to contact Disney for you given it's on MDE and therefore agreed. Just out of interest, how was the call with ATD left?

I think they have contacted ATD but haven't heard anything back. They said they would let me know when they did. I just want to see it on my invoice so I know that there is no chance of it getting reverted when they sent the final details over to Disney.

I don't think for one second that Disney will reverse it. Getting them to agree to the change in these refurb situations is usually the hard part, the fact that they've agreed it means they have no reason to revert.
Screenshot MDE for peace of mind and call/email ATD again in a few days to check if they have further confirmation from Disney. |

That is a great idea! Will give it until Friday
To be honest, ATD was really good when I first booked but they haven't really being great with this change. I sent an email about the pool and my disappointment about it when Disney announced it and they just never replied (nor an email saying the pool will be under refurb has gone out) which is why I went directly to Disney. They aren't happy that Disney changed it though. Personally, I won't be booking with a third party again and go direct to Disney.

We always book directly with Disney. We had big issues with the CBR refurb last year and the fact that I'd booked directly meant it was much more straight forward to sort out.
We're going back to Beach Club next year and for the first time in a long while I've used a TA (ATD) purely because they were about £700 cheaper with discounts than Disney. I'm really hoping I'm not going to regret that decision... |

I think you will be fine. They were great until this so hopefully it is just a one off
