That last picture looks like bliss right now!

This was hubby's DIY project last year!

all prices approx and obviously no labour costs.
Patio - porcelain tiles - £2,300 (inc grout etc)
Wood Structure - £1200 (but we had to redeisgn roof as it was supposed to be an apex which was too tall so extra spent on more wood and roofing felt +£200).
also estimate we spent another £2,000 on aggregrate/base material, equipment hire and skips!
£300/400 on plants and landscaping surrounding areas
£1200 on furniture/lighting/gas firepit.
Only professional help was an electrician to wire in a mains socket and lighting.
so all in about £7.3k for a DIY!

lovely -does your hubby do things like that for a living? I think considering you included plants , furniture etc. in your price its very reasonable. I do love porcelain tiles and if we redo our patio that is what i would like.

No, not his trade but he is very good at DIY. He retired the year before so had plenty of free time. Started digging foundations in late March and was mostly complete by mid June. He did rope me and grown up kids into helping with concrete base and slab laying! Was a lot of hard work but reaping the rewards now! We did look at other tiles/slabs but are very pleased we paid more and had the porcelain ones, we love them.

Really nice, this is what we're doing, except ours has a grey slate roof. Floor nearly finished.

I have to choose lighting soon, hopefully order tonight or tomorrow. Do you have a night pic you can post with the lights on? I'm hoping to put up festoon lights too but more fixed (incase they sway and break in the wind). What is the spacing between yours? 0.5 or less? You want the right amount of light and I'm worried I put too many or not enough in.

Just our wee garden. It’s a new home so fairly tiny postage stamp size but we actually love it. We are waiting on a summer house to sit where the gazebo is and will extend the deck to side where shed is and it will move to elsewhere. I have total garden envy on some of these.

Lighting was a string of lights from Costco similar to this ...

just measured them and they are approx 62cm apart.
Dont have many night pictures - these arent great but I'll try and take a better one later this evening!

We've only a small garden and grass just doesn't grow. Re turfed a few times so we've given up. This our result. Started Monday, new decking and stones. I put the stones in today and was one of the worst few hours if my life. It was so hot! Had a jumbo bag and have run out 3/4 of the way though In a positive I built a platform for the plants using the pallet the stones came on Nice seats to come when i get some more money;0
