Thought you were Scotland too but it's worth phoning your Dentist as they are doing some work. I lost a chunk of a tooth/filling at the start of lockdown and mentioned it when they phoned to postpone check ups and they told me to get back intouch if gets painful or think it's infected.

It seems that our dentist who is both nhs and private with denplan has two tiers.
Nhs is a phone call with emergency treatment only but if I join denplan I can have a one to one consultation with treatment.
Considering nearly all dentists trained in the uk were trained nhs using taxpayers money I find this two tier system very distasteful. Many dentists have been paid by the governments generous dental furlough scheme scheme yet treat their nhs patients with contempt. Hopefully an enquiry or investigation will be carried out on the uk dental practice for their shoddy treatment of patients.

Our dentist is NHS and private.

We are a family of 7 and all of us have been seen under the NHS. We have all had checkups, one of my boys has had a filling and my daughter has had her crown replaced after it came out.

3 of us have had hygienist appointments.

My husband and son have both been seen privately as well for Invisalign treatments and my husband has had reconstructive work done inc veneer replacements.

Itís very mixed, Iíve now had 3 appointments, including a full scale and polish, the experience is very different though, have to wait outside to be allowed in, temperature check, belongings into a plastic container, dentist and nurse in full PPE, ours is private, very few NHS dentists in our part of Wales, however they havenít increased their prices and another good thing no waiting around as thereís no one else there! Everyone hates that looking around at all the others in the waiting room wondering when itíll be your turn x

NHS dentist here and by chance I found out that they are doing check-ups again. I'm in at the beginning of November and just booked one today for DH for this week.

Our practice has cancelled all routine check ups and only takes you if it is an emergency.

DS 7 was due for his check up in March but it was cancelled until August then cancelled again until next week. Just been cancelled again until January.
